Hi, my name’s Sam (short for ‘Samantha’)
. I first came to Hilderstone College back in 1997 as a summer teacher (while I was teaching in Slovakia), and have worked at many schools since. However, Hilderstone is such a great place to work that I’m really happy to be back here!
After twenty years of teaching, I’m excited to be working in a new job – I am based in the Marketing Department. I help the Head of Marketing with new group enquiries and we deal with our international partners that send many of our students to us. I assist with enrolments and liaise with all the departments – Finance, Academic and Accommodation – to make sure that everything goes smoothly. You will often find me in the Multi Media Learning Centre: this is one of my favourite places in the College because it’s nice and calm at the end of a busy day!
I still love teaching, and luckily I often have the opportunity to teach classes here – it’s such a great way to get the know the students better, and it’s great to see them feeling more and more confident about their English.
I am also responsible for the College’s social media, and I have learnt so much about it since I started this job. I would love our students -past and present – to send me more of their photographs, videos and blogs about their time here, and to hear any ideas about things we could put on Facebook, Google Plus,Twitter and Instagram that they would find useful or interesting.
